DETECT+ YELLOW Powder Leak Detection Dye – Fluorescent Tracer for Water Systems

Hidden leaks in roofs, pipelines, tanks or cooling systems are often difficult to detect with the naked eye. The DETECT+ YELLOW fluorescent dye tracer provides a fast, reliable and non-toxic solution. Activated under UV light (365 nm), this yellow powder highlights even the smallest leaks or infiltrations, making it a valuable tool for building diagnostics, industrial maintenance and R&D applications.

APPLICATIONS AND TIPS

Building Applications

Roofs and Terraces – Waterproofing and Leak Detection

Applied on flat roofs, balconies or terraces, the dye tracer flows with water and reveals cracks or defects under UV light. Professionals can easily verify waterproofing quality without destructive testing.

Walls and Facades – Moisture and Infiltration Diagnosis

Sprayed or applied on external walls and facades, DETECT+ YELLOW helps locate hidden moisture paths. Fluorescence under UV inspection highlights infiltration zones caused by defective coatings or capillary rise.

Bathrooms and Swimming Pools – Detecting Leaks in Tiles and Liners

When added to pool water or bathroom circuits, the dye tracer makes it possible to identify leaks at joints, tiles, liners or immersed parts. Under UV light, leakage paths are instantly visible.

Pipelines and Networks – Underground and Embedded Leak Detection

Introduced into water networks, the dye circulates along the system and escapes at the leakage point. With a UV lamp, technicians can easily pinpoint the exact location of hidden ruptures in embedded or underground pipes.

Industrial Applications

Cooling Circuits – Micro-Leak Detection in Water/Glycol Systems

The dye tracer is highly effective for detecting small leaks in cooling circuits containing water or glycol mixtures. UV fluorescence highlights losses at joints, exchangers or tubing connections.

Tanks and Reservoirs – Internal Waterproofing Control

By adding the tracer into storage tanks or industrial reservoirs, operators can test structural integrity. UV inspection reveals cracks, fissures or perforations that are invisible under normal conditions.

Process Industries and Preventive Maintenance

In wastewater treatment lines, hydraulic loops or industrial networks, DETECT+ YELLOW helps anticipate leaks and improve predictive maintenance strategies.

R&D and Hydraulic Simulation – Flow Visualization

Research labs and hydrology studies use this tracer to model flow dispersion and simulate hydraulic connections. Strong fluorescence and easy solubility make it ideal for experimental work.

Technical Specifications

Form: yellow fluorescent powder

Fluorescence: activated under UV lamp 365 nm

Solubility : dissolves easily in water, formulation designed for easy dispersion in water

Visibility : bright yellow color, visible for several hours

Usage Guidelines and Dosage

  • Preparation – dissolve DETECT+ YELLOW powder in warm or cold water to ensure even dispersion.

  • Recommended dosage : 0.1 to 0.5 g/L of water. For closed circuits or very small volumes, start with the minimum dose and adjust according to visibility.

  • Injection – introduce the solution into the system (pipe, tank, basin) and let it circulate.

  • Inspection – use a 365 nm UV lamp to examine joints, walls or leakage zones.

  • Cleaning – apply BRILLANT REMOVER to eliminate persistent stains.

  • Recommendations – perform a small-scale test before full application, avoid overdosing, and wear eye protection when using UV lamps.

Standards, Safety and Origin

  • Safety : the product is non-polluting, non-toxic, and safe for the environment provided that the conditions of use and the prescribed dosage are respected.

  • Origin / Manufacturing : this product is "made in France".

  • Responsible use : respect the dosages to avoid any uncontrolled impact; dispose of residues in accordance with local protocols.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

In practice, you can test with 0.1 g of solution per 1 L of water (i.e. 1 g for 10 L), then adjust according to the brightness of the result and the desired coloration.

Yes, this is one of its main uses. DETECT+ YELLOW makes it very easy to visualize infiltration points through waterproofing membranes, tile joints, or façade cracks. Note: On absorbent surfaces such as natural stone or certain façade coatings, it is important not to let the product dry and to rinse quickly after testing to avoid any risk of residual stains. For sensitive surfaces, we recommend using the UV MAX colorless range, specially formulated to leave no marks.

Use the dedicated cleaning product BRILLANT REMOVER to remove dye residues.

Under normal use and on low-absorbency surfaces, DETECT+ YELLOW does not leave persistent traces after thorough rinsing. However, on porous or absorbent surfaces (such as natural stone, certain coatings, or façades), it is recommended not to let the product dry and to rinse immediately after testing to avoid any risk of residual staining. For particularly sensitive surfaces, it is preferable to use the UV MAX colorless range, which carries no risk of staining.

Yes, the product sheet confirms use in water-glycol systems.

The bright yellow color is detectable for several hours.

Testing on a small area is recommended.
